The Utility Block of Silken Sewing LTD. is an essential part of the total Master plan setting of the industrial complex. It is built at the very end of the complex. The rectilinear mass elongates from south to north making it exposed to the west sun after mid-day.
The design is evolved from functional requirements held within the envelope. The Overhang roof canopy acts as an umbrella and completes the building. The complexity of various utility based functions like Generator, Boiler, Compressor, Sub-station, storage, workshop etc. are harmonized within the building envelope. All the separate functions have their own complexity and requirement; hence placed through strategic planning that gives them a coherent identity.
