Hosne Aziz Villa Landscape

Project Description

When it comes to designing residences, a healthy atmosphere that is also aesthetically appealing has become increasingly desirable, especially in light of the existing global scenario. A thoughtful landscape design that compliments the built project is one of the most effective methods to ensure this. Through the art of combining natural material aspects like vegetation and planting with nonliving features like exterior structures, paving, and decking numerous site-specific solutions have been achieved in this project.
The multi-family residence Hosne Aziz Villa, designed by In Quest Design Studio stands out as a vertical impression of a traditional village house type in the large plot of land near Hatirjheel. Although we recognize the significance of open social spaces for the people in Dhaka and the importance of enabling children to play in public and outdoor places, it is difficult to deny that very few spaces within the city provide adequate prepared surroundings for the adults and most importantly, the children. The idea behind this landscape project was to create a pleasant and safe location where the residents may experience urbanity and become able to be socially active. The design was created in an approach, with bands of trees enclosing areas for sports and activities. The project includes a lot of amenities for the residents of the Villa –a playground to be used for sports surrounded by deciduous trees to provide natural shading, a BBQ area for dining facilities, a designed kiosk, planter and shaded seating, boundary fence built of mesh with hanging plants, water features, pavements and walkways for cycling and jogging respectively.
Crossing the internal road, one can find a deck at the western part of the pond which is an integral part of the Hatirjheel lake. The deck has stairways that rise to a height where one can enjoy the views of the natural surroundings. There is a raised platform dedicated to Kurbani rituals. Every year, the Chittagong Samiti’s “mejban” festival begins at the residence, with the cow slaughtering and all other pre-mejban preparations.
In a community, the landscape is closely connected to the residents’ everyday lives; the design defines their recreational habits and has a direct impact on their quality of life. The design team has oriented the approach towards serving the residents of the Villa and meeting their behavioral and psychological demands with a goal to create a beautiful, safe, green, and livable environment with complete functions, facilities, and services.
